Expect more Zack Snyder Netflix films to come, including a sequel to this yearās Army Of The Dead.
Some of the Netflix top brass were making promises only the other day about more āblockbusterā films coming to the streaming platform. The general feeling being that at the moment, weāre seeing lots of quantity in terms of Netflix Original movies, but not enough films ācutting throughā and becoming part of the cultural conversation in the way that its TV shows have been doing for some years now.
Perhaps then this was the pending announcement it had in mind then when it spoke of āblockbusterā entertainment. Zack Snyder, divisive as his films may be, is certainly a director whose name and style gets a major amount of eyeballs watching his films.
Army Of The Dead, it has been revealed by Netflix, has been seen by over 75 million people. As such, itās no surprise that the streamer has signed the director, and his production company Stone Quarry Productions, up to a two year first-look deal.
It has also been announced that after making his
Star Wars-inspired sci-fi flick,
Rebel Moon, Snyder will then be developing and directing a sequel to his Las Vegas-based zombie heist film,
Army Of The Dead. Not only that, but Snyder is producing several spin-off titles for the franchise too.
With so many fingers in so many Netflix pies, itās no surprise that the streaming giant has made the deal official. Itās likely then that weāll be hearing of more Snyder projects to air on Netflix for some time to come in the future.
