William H Macyās addition rounds out the cast for the next film in the Planet Of The Apes franchise.
Since purchasing 20th Century Fox in 2019, Disney has been reviving a host of the latterās franchises with plans being in place for a while now to return to the popular
The Planet Of The Apes series. The next film will be titled
Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes and we’ve heard that the story will pick up some years after Matt Reeve’s much-admired
War Of The Planet Of The Apes left things, presumably giving the film some narrative breathing room to create its own trilogy.
Director Wes Ball left his planned adaptation of
Harbinger to devote all of his energies to
The Planet Of The Apes whilst
The Stand's Owen Teague was cast last summer to lead the movie. Now weāve learned that heāll be starring opposite William H Macy, a leading Hollywood go-to for the type of timeworn, grizzled character that youād probably find yourself encountering should humanity ever become an endangered species on the planet that it once ruled. Macyās
Shameless co-star Peter Macon is also set to feature.
Ball has previously promised that the film will ‘continue Caesar’s legacy.’ You can expect to enjoy plenty of Macyās hangdog expressions when the film arrives in cinemas in May of 2024. Filming is reportedly underway with lots of post-production work to follow, weād imagine. Weāll bring you more updates on this one as we hear them.
