What We Do In The Shadows star Harvey Guillén is in talks with Warner Bros for a role in DC film Blue Beetle.
Over the last couple of years, Harvey Guillén has appeared in
Werewolves Within, FX’s
What We Do In The Shadows series, and Amazon’s
Reacher. Now, he is in talks with Warner Bros. for a role in DC film
Blue Beetle, Deadline reports. We don’t know anything yet about the role he would be playing, but we do have some details on the film itself.
Originally developed as part of DC’s HBO Max-exclusive slate of films,
Blue Beetle now has a theatrical release date of 18th August 2023. Angel Manuel Soto, who helmed HBO Max original
Charm City Kings, is directing from a script written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.
Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña has been cast in the starring role.
Blue Beetle (real name Jaime Reyes) is a superhero that has appeared in many forms in the DC comics. The current version of the character was introduced in 2006, and is given his powers by an Egyptian scarab. The artifact is alien in origin, and grants Reyes a suit of extraterrestrial armour. Blue Beetle has been part of both the Teen Titans and Justice League.
As well as his starring role as Guillermo in
What We Do In The Shadows, Harvey Guillén has just finished filming on
I’m Totally Fine, a sci-fi comedy drama starring Natalie Morales.
We’ll bring you more news on
Blue Beetle as we hear it.
