Werewolf Santa heads to streaming next month, and hereās the trailer for the incoming festive horror movie.
Horror has been a subgenre of festive filmmaking since 1972ās Whoever Slew Auntie Roo, then Silent Night, Bloody Night and Black Christmas further popularised the concept of seasonal scares.
The latest addition to this particular collection is Werewolf Santa, which takes a more comedic approach to the genre. But does, as the title suggests, involve a werewolf. And does involve said Santa Claus becoming said werewolf. You canāt say the title didnāt warn you. (Alternative title: Santa Claws.)
The synopsis for the film reads as follows:
Santa turns into a werewolf on Christmas Eve, and wreaks havoc in a small seaside town – meanwhile, Lucy has a show called āMonster Huntersā on Youtube, but itās not doing too great with just a few viewers following her. That is until, on Christmas Eve, her camera witnesses Santa get bit by a werewolf in the local park, before turning into a werewolf himself. Lucy and her family then set off on an adventure to somehow save Christmas, armed with a rusty ice skate and a vague understanding of how werewolves operate.
Katherine Rodden, Emily Booth, Mark Arnold, and Charlie Preston star in the film. Airell Anthony Hayles wrote and directed it.
Werewolf Santa will be available to buy digitally in the UK from the 6th November.
