Kelly Marcel, writer of the previous two Venom installments, will be stepping into the directorās chair for the next film.
Venom 3 has found its director. The Sony series of films, focused around Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote has already spawned two films with each installment coming via a different filmmaker.
Zombieland's Reuben Fleischer helmed the first film whilst Andy Serkis directed the second.
For the third film, the seriesā writer will be stepping into the directorās chair. Kelly Marcel has been involved with the franchise since the beginning, first as a writer on
Venom in league with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, although the latter two devised the filmās story. Marcel was the sole screenwriter on last yearās sequel,
Venom: Let There Be Carnage, though she shared the story credit with star Tom Hardy.
Marcel has also written or co-written films such as the original
Fifty Shades Of Grey, Cruella and
Saving Mr Banks. We donāt have any definitive plot details yet, though the second movie left a few threads dangling that Marcel might be tempted to work with. Weāll bring you more on this project, including a scheduled production date, as we hear more details.
