George Clooney returns to star and direct in The Midnight Sky, a sci-fi drama that’s landing on Netflix just before Christmas – trailer here.
Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming George Clooney project,
The Midnight Sky. The streaming platform has also announced a release date for the film which will be with us on December 23rd.
The Midnight Sky follows the exploits of a scientist in Antarctica who believes he is the last man on Earth following an Extinction Level Event, that is until he finds a child named Iris who he cares for.
The film looks promising indeed and might just be the kind of uplifting tale of human endeavour that we need this Christmas after, well, it’s been quite the year, hasn’t it?
The film is based on a book by Lily Brooks-Dalton and also stars David Oyelowo, Felicity Jones and Kyle Chandler as NASA astronauts wondering why they’ve lost contact with Earth.
This marks Clooney’s return to screens after a four year absence (unless you count coffee ads), but as the last man on Earth, it seems he might be making up for lost time with a wealth of screen time.
As a director, this will be his first project since 2017’s
Suburbicon.
Should such things be of interest to you, he’s also sporting a very fine beard, which you can check out below.
