Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is heading straight to Prime Video in the UK with a July date now confirmed.
Well, it’s official. Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare won’t be heading to UK cinemas and will premiere on Prime Video at the tail end of July.
We already had a sneaking suspicion this might happen after the film premiered in US cinemas all the way back in April, with no UK release date in sight, but it’s still a tad disappointing. You can watch the film on a smaller screen from 25th July when it’ll be available on Prime Video.
Here’s the film’s synopsis: Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action-comedy, that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials, including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.
The film’s starry cast includes ā deep breath! ā Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusanmokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, with Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes.
Director Guy Ritchie is already looking ahead with at least two films on the horizon. In The Grey is heading into cinemas in 2025 while the director is already planning another film, reportedly titled Wife & Dog.
