The Sopranos prequel movie The Many Saints Of Newark arrives next month – and the new trailer for the film has landed.
The pandemic-enforced delay to The Sopranos movie prequel The Many Saints Of Newark pushed the movie back from last year to this. But finally, the tale of the young Tony Soprano is set to land on the big screen.
Michael Gandolfini will be stepping into the character played by his late father, James, and taking the lead in the movie. Alan Taylor directs, and David Chase – who created the TV show – has written the screenplay.
Cast-wise, the ensemble is fleshed out by Leslie Odom Jr, Jon Bernthal, Alessandro Nivola, Corey Stoll, Vera Farmiga and Ray Liotta. And the latest trailer for the movie has been released, which is – let’s face it – the recent we’ve gathered here today in this place.

Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.
The movie lands in October.
