Warner Bros has been changing its release schedule around, delaying three major DC movies, and bringing another one forward.
Warner Bros has elected to make some sizeable changes to it release schedule over the next two years or so, announcing a raft of delays that have seen some films pushed back by up to seven months. The studio’s DC Extended Universe projects are the hardest hit, although several other high-profile releases don’t escape unscathed either.
The new release slate for Warners’ DC movies is now as follows:
July 29th 2022:
DC’s League of Super-pets
October 21st 2022:
Black Adam
December 12th 2022:
Shazam! Fury of the Gods
March 17th 2023:
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
June 23rd 2023:
The Flash
This means the
Aquaman sequel and the forthcoming
Black Adam have each been pushed back by three months, whilst
The Flash stands to be the most ironically-titled movie in cinema history considering how long it seems to be taking to make it into the world. That film has been pushed back seven months to the summer of 2023.
The
Wonka prequel – which has nearly wrapped filming – is going back nine months to December 15th 2023. Whether the date shifts are to do with pandemic problems or simply represent a strategic move from Warner Bros is unknown, although with its 2023 slate previously looking a little thin on the blockbuster front, this will even things out. We’ll bring you more on any further schedule changes as we hear them.
