Gareth Edwards’ The Creator is heading to Blu-ray and other physical media in the UK in January 2024. More details here:
Gareth Edwards’ return to filmmaking this year with The Creator was, for our money, something of a triumph. Big fans of Edwards here, and also big fans of the film, as you can see from our review.
The movie was very clearly made for the big screen, but also, it should be something of a home cinema workout as well. Now we have the confirmation that it’s going to be one of the first big physical media releases of the year in the UK in 2024, as Disney has dated the film for January 15th 2024.
That’s a few weeks behind the US release (it’s coming to disc in the states in December), and we’d anticipate the digital release being a little way in advance of that.
The Creator is being released across a few formats. You can find the DVD version here, the Blu-ray here, the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray edition here, and the Steelbook is here.
Furthermore, the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray versions come with something on top as well. The only extra feature listed is entitled ‘True Love – The Making Of The Creator’, yet this looks like a 55 minute making of piece, which would be very welcome.
If you’re unfamiliar with the film, then its synopsis reads as follows…
Amid a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war-and mankind itself.
All versions of The Creator are available for order now.
