Jeff Nicholsā The Bikeriders is coming to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK this September. More here.
The story of The Bikeriders’ journey to the screen wasn’t a short one even before the end of last year, with director Jeff Nichols noodling with the film for two decades before he went ahead and made it. Then, though, after it premiered on the festival circuit last autumn, Disney promptly dropped the movie and left it in limbo. It took Universal and Focus Features swooping in to give the movie the big screen outing it deserved.
Furthermore, it’s not skimping on the physical media release either, with the news that The Bikeriders will be heading to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc this September in the UK.
The release date we’re hearing is 23rd September 2024. You can find the DVD version here, the Blu-ray here and the 4K disc here.
There’s no word on extra features, though, so we’d treat any that appear as a nice surprise. In the modern era, just getting a full disc release is a bit of treat, and so that might have to do for now.
If you’re unfamiliar with the film, our review is here, and you can find the full synopsis for the movie below these very words…
Inspired by Danny Lyon’s titular photography collection and set in 1960s Chicago, āThe Bikeridersā chronicles the story of The Vandals, a fictional motorcycle club that transforms into a more sinister gang over the course of a decade. This gritty tale of romance, violence, and brotherhood stars Emmy® Winner Jodie Comer, Oscar-nominated actors Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, and Michael Shannon, Mike Faist and Norman Reedus.
The film is available for preorder now, but it’s also still just about playing in cinemas as these words are written. It’s worth seeing on the big screen, and hearing it through a cinema sound system too…
