Terrifier and Terrifier 2 are coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray for the first time, both landing in early 2024. More details here.
Damien Leone’s
Terrifier films have come from economic budgets to become breakout horror hits, in spite of having no traditional Hollywood money behind either of them.
The 2016 original first came to life via a crowdfunding round that didn’t hit its target. But off a $35,000 budget – and thanks to images of a terrifying clown and some unusually intense gore – the movie swiftly made it to profit. The result? A $250,000 budget for the even bloodier
Terrifier 2, and a surprise indie box office hit. Over $15m was made in cinemas alone.
Damien Leone has written and directed both films, and now finds himself on the verge of releasing
Terrifier 3 in 2024. Ahead of that though, we learn that the first two films are getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release for the first time.
Signature Entertainment is handling the release in the UK, which seems to be the first time Signature has unleashed a physical 4K disc. It’s a limited edition Steelbook that’s been announced thus far, with a release date of 29th January 2024 inked in.

You can find
more on the release, and order yourself a copy, here. The asking price at the time of writing is £45 for the double pack.
There are some extra features bundled in here too. We’re getting, at least on the second film, a commentary track from Damien Leone, as well as a behind the scenes look at the movie. Furthermore, there’s what’s being called an ‘extended Boo Crew interview’. An interview, we’ve managed to conclude from that listing.
As we understand it,
Terrifier 3 is now in post-production, and we await release date news for the movie. In the meantime, the 4K Steelbook set of the first two films is available for pre-order now.
