Super 8 getting 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release in UK

JJ Abrams’ 2011 hit Super 8 is getting the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray treatment, as the film is set for release on the format in May – more here. This coming May already sees a host of catalogue releases arriving on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format here in the UK, with titles such as Speed, The Sting, Godzilla and My Fair Lady all line up. And another can be added as well, with the news that a 10th anniversary edition of JJ Abrams’ hit blockbuster Super 8 is arriving on the format. The film stars Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Gabriel Basso, Noah Emmerich, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Ron Eldard. What’s more, if you’ve not seen it, there’s one particular sequence that’s likely to provide quite a workout for a home cinema set up. The disc has been earmarked for UK release on May 24th. No word of any extra special features on this one, but the inclusion of a Blu-ray copy of the film in the box suggests that previous supplements will be carried over on that.
