The next Star Wars series is set for an early December release date at Disney+. More on Star Wars Skeleton Crew below.
If The Acolyte left you wanting more adventures in a galaxy far, far away, you won’t have to wait too long. The next Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, is now slated to stream on Disney+ from 3rd December.
Spider-Man director Jon Watts has co-created the series with Christopher Ford and the series will focus on four kids who get lost in the galaxy. The release date announcement and first look photos were shared on the official Star Wars X (formerly Twitter) account. From the images alone, it seems that Skeleton Crew will lean harder into the sentiment that the films, especially the prequel trilogy are aimed at children. Weāre expecting to be whimsically charmed.
The series’ cast includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the four kids as well as Jude Law as a character called Jod Na Nawood. In an interview with People, Law promised that Skeleton Crew includes “great references to old films and recent episodes and series.”
Of his character, Law simply said that he’s āsomeone who uses quick thinking, charm and conversation to get out of all sorts of scenarios.ā How mysterious. Nick Frost is also on board as a “rusty old, cranky droid that sort of reluctantly helps the kids along the way.”
Here’s the official synopsis: āWhen four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.ā
