Three more titles get delayed by Sony, although itās still lining up awards-season releases for them all ā details here.
With the pandemic situation worsening in America and increasing numbers of cinemas being forced to close, Sony has reshuffled a few of its upcoming release dates, pushing several films back.
Firstly,
The Father, starring Anthony Hopkins as an elderly man facing up to the realities of dementia alongside Olivia Colman as his daughter who moves in to look after him, was originally due to debut later this month. It will now make its bow on February 26th, 2021.
The feature-length documentary,
The Truffle Hunters, about a group of men searching for the renowned Alba Truffle in the forests of Northern Italy was an acclaimed festival hit. It was due to release in the US on Christmas Day but has now been pushed back to March.
Finally,
I Carry You With Me, a film charting the fortunes of two Mexican men who fall for each other and emigrate to America for a reach start has been moved to a general spring 2021 window, leaving its previously-named January 8th release date.
According to
Variety, all three films will have short awards-qualifying runs in December to allow them to compete in this year’s awards season. If we hear of any more changes or delays to release dates, we’ll let you know.
