Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In set for UK cinemas

Sir Alex Ferguson will be telling some of his stories in a brand new feature documentary – more details on the film right here. There’s been a terrific run of sporting documentary features over the past year or two, and the latest to be announced is focusing on the former Manchester United football manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. A few years back, he suffered a life-threatening brain haemorrhage, and during his recovery from that, he told some of his memories and stories to his son, Jason. Now, those stories have been fashioned into a feature film. Billed as ‘the definitive portrait of an unrivalled football career’, the film Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In will be distributed by Universal this coming May. A cinema release is planned – in theory – for May 27^th, and the film will then be available on Amazon Prime Video too from May 29^th. Former players and colleagues such as Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Gordon Strachan and Archie Knox are interviewed for the film, as well as Ferguson’s wife Cathy and their three sons. And as the man himself says, “losing my memory was my biggest fear when I suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2018. In the making of this film I was able to revisit the most important moments of my life, good and bad. Having my son Jason direct this film has ensured an honest and intimate account”. Expect a trailer closer to the film’s release.
