The four Shrek movies are all confirmed for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK, with extra features too. More here.
While DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures make their minds up as to whether we’ll see a fifth adventure in the Shrek series of movies, the first four films are now being bundled together on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Some Shrek films have already made it to the format, but we’re now getting the original, Shrek 2, Shrek The Third and Shrek Forever After in a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray set in the UK.
The set appears to have just 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs in the box, and not the Blu-rays as well. Still, there are extra features being included, even if the listing isn’t specific as to what we get. There’s enthusiasm in the official listing too, which is all in block caps. So you can capture the experience of that, the block caps have been recreated in this very article here.

Finally, here’s the synopsis that’s been lovingly prepared…
Get the greatest fairytale never told with all 4 Shrektacular films featuring the voice talents of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy! A hilariously hideous ogre rescues a feisty princess in Shrek, meets his royal in-laws in Shrek 2, rules the kingdom in Shrek the Third, and finds his world turned upside-down in Shrek Forever After. It’s an ogre-sized collection of fun!
The set is selling for £60, thus £15 per film. Granted, there are two good films in the box – other opinions are available on that – but if you’re a Shrek completist, and like 4K things, then this should make you happy. And if you’re happy, we’re happy.
