AppleTV+ has announced via a teaser trailer that Severance season 2 is heading to our screens in January 2025. More on the new season below.
If you’ve been patiently waiting for news about Severance season 2, we’ve got them for you. The good news is that there’s now a brief, but intriguing teaser for the new season as well as a premiere date.
The bad news is that the date is rather far away still.

That’s right, we’ll have to wait until 17th January for Severance season 2. The series will debut one episode per week, running through to March. Gwendoline Christie, Merritt Wever and Alia Shawkat are among the actors joining the series for season 2.
The series follows Adam Scott’s Mark and his colleagues, all of whom have gone through the titular procedure to separate their work-selves from their personal selves. Season 1 found Mark and his co-workers beginning to uncover a mystery around their employer, Lumon Industries, and the entire nature of the severance procedure.
The first season ended on a frustrating, delicious cliffhanger so fans have been expecting any crumbs on when Severance might be back and such a long wait is pretty devastating, but let’s hope it’s worth the wait.
The series was created by Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller is one of the executive producers. Stiller also directed the majority of the episodes in season one, but it’s not yet known whether Stiller will resume directing duties. The actor-director has teased the new season on his socials, so it’s likely that he’ll be back in the director’s chair.
Noel Fielding has reportedly pulled out of the shoot for season 2 of The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin leading to the series’ demise. More on that below.
