David Fincherās Seven ā or Se7en ā is finally arriving on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in January 2025 ā more info on the UK release here.
It’s perhaps little surprise that director David Fincher has been pretty exacting when it comes to bringing his first hugely successful movie – Seven – to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format. He was particular about how the film was presented to exhibitors in the first place, and Seven – or Se7en, if you must – was originally due to be getting a remastered home formats release in 2024.
Turns out that it’s just about missing the Christmas period, and will now be going on sale from 6th January 2025 in the UK. Fincher is said to have been very hands on with overseeing the transfer.
Previously-announced collectors’ sets have been cancelled, and instead you’re going to have two options when it comes to buying Seven on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. There’s the standard release, and there’s the Steelbook.
You can find the standard edition here, where you can also preorder a copy (link wasnāt live at time of posting, but is due live imminently).
The presumably set to be in heavy demand Steelbook meanwhile can be found here.
The listing brings over a fair amount of extra features too, and the stuff that’s been announced? Well, it’s this little lot…
- 4x Commentaries Featuring Director David Fincher, Actors Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, and Other Collaborators on the Film
- Additional/Extended Scenes
- Alternate Endings
- And More
Fincher fans might be interested too that Zodiac has just made its debut on 4K disc in the US, although there’s no sign at the moment of a UK release. We’re also promised that Fight Club is on its way to the format too, although that was previously said about Panic Room and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, neither of which have thus far reappeared.
Seven is definite now though, and it’s available for preorder.
