Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans to star in Project Artemis

Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans have been cast in Project Artemis – Apple TV+ has picked up the film and Jason Bateman will direct. Former Marvel costars Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans are teaming up once again on new film Project Artemis. Deadline reports that plot details are being kept under wraps, but the movie is already garnering attention. Apple TV+ has already swooped in to buy the rights in a deal apparently costing more than $100 million. To add more big names to the film, Ozark's Jason Bateman will be directing and producing under his Aggregate Films label. Johansson will also produce via her company These Days. While plot details are few, it’s understood that Project Artemis will be set during the space race. The screenplay is written by Rose Gilroy, child of writer-director Dan Gilroy and René Russo. Apple has been making sure to grab the rights to a lot of promising films lately. The studio’s fresh off its Oscars victory, with CODA winning Best Picture. It’s the first streaming service to achieve this. Also purchased recently are Matthew Vaughn’s Argyle and an untitled F1 racing project starring Brad Pitt. Johansson and Evans have reportedly been looking to team up for another film since their roles in the Marvel franchise came to an end. They were meant to collaborate on another Apple property, Ghosted, but Johansson had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. She was replaced by Ana de Armas. Also in development at Apple at the moment is Bride, which Johansson is starring in, and producing, for director Sebastián Lelio.
