Apple Studios is backing an Audrey Hepburn biopic, which will be directed by Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino.
As 2022 dawns, Apple show no signs of slowing down, with the studio seemingly determined to carve out its own space in the streaming world.
Whilst itās commissioned all sorts of projects in the last year, Apple does seem to have a penchant for prestige projects. After all, itās lured Martin Scorsese away from Netflix for the upcoming
Killers Of The Flower Moon, itās recently snagged Brad Pitt and George Clooney for Jon Wattās next film, not to mention leading the race for Pittās
planned Formula One collaboration with Joseph Kosinski.
Now, you can add another prestige production to Appleās slate, with the news that the studio is developing a biopic based on the life of the screen legend and style icon, Audrey Hepburn. According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by
Call Me By Your Nameās Luca Guadagnino and will star Rooney Mara as Hepburn.
No plot details have been revealed as yet, although the writer of
The Current War, Micheal Mitnick, is penning the script.
Hepburn led such classic movies as
Breakfast At Tiffanyās, My Fair Lady and
Roman Holiday, although we donāt know yet if the production of any of these classics will feature in the eventual story, nor if the film will cover Hepburnās later life when she retired from acting and instead worked with UNICEF and other causes. Weāll bring you more on this one as we hear it.
