PlayStation Productions continues to mine its back catalogue, with the post-apocalyptic zombie horde title Days Gone seemingly next in line.
Reports tell that PlayStation didnāt love the reception to Bend Studioās zombie action title,
Days Gone which released back in 2019. Thereās a whole story there but the upshot is that the publisher didnāt deem the title worthy of a sequel. However, that hasnāt stopped PlayStationās film production arm from planning a movie adaptation of the post-apocalyptic action game that sees a lone biker take on countless hordes of zombies.
Reports over the weekend are suggesting that Oscar-nominated writer Sheldon Turner is penning the script, whilst
Outlander star Sam Heughan will take on the lead role of the brilliantly-named Deacon St. John, the gruff biker with a secret heart of gold. The gameās story is āset in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic,
Days Gone follows former motorcycle club member Deacon St. John as he fights to survive against mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find the long lost, presumed dead, love of his life.ā
Weāre losing track of the amount of PlayStation adaptations that are said to be on the way but we know thereās a TV version of
The Last Of Us coming, along with an
Uncharted sequel too. Apparently, there are also adaptations of
Gran Turismo, Jak And Daxter, Ghost Of Tsushima and perhaps even
God Of War and
Horizon Zero Dawn on the way too. Phew! Itās an ambitious slate and weāll bring you more on these projects, including
Days Gone as we hear it.
