The trailer for Pixar’s next big release, Luca, has been released.
Arriving straight to Disney+ on the 18th of June, the full trailer for Luca is finally here, inviting us into the gorgeous looking Portorosso.
The film focuses on Luca and a new best friend as they spend a summer of fun, pasta and sunshine in the beautiful seaside town. Just one snag. They’re actually sea monsters from another world exploring the town in disguise.
The trailer looks full of promise, not only capturing the beautiful Italian town as the animation team behind Coco so expertly captured the streets of Mexico, but also that magic of a summer friendship and days filled with adventure. With screenwriters Mike Jones (Soul) and Jesse Andrews (Every Day), it’s sure to have a lot of heart and remind us of the treasures found in the little moments.
Unfortunately, like Soul before it, it’ll be skipping a cinematic release and going straight to Disney+. Soul did get a limited theatrical showing at London Film Festival so there’s a small chance Luca might make its way to a big screen in some places, but if not, at least we can all escape to the sea from our front rooms for this magical adventure.
