Welcome to a world where all of the elements live together, side-by-side, in Pixarās newly-announced summer 2023 movie Elemental.
Disney and Pixar have announced their big summer animated release coming next year.
Elemental will be a Pixar film that focuses on the classic āodd coupleā dynamic, following āan unlikely pair, Ember and Wade, in a city where fire, water, land and air residents live together.ā
Little else is known about the project at this time, although we do know that the film will be directed by Peter Sohn who has previously directed
The Good Dinosaur and the short
Partly Cloudy. Based around the idea that the elements that populate the city are naturally inclined to work well together in some cases and not in others, Sohn has cited inspiration from growing up in the cultural melting pot that was 1970s New York as one of his inspirations.
The film rounds out Disneyās summer 2023 slate which already includes
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 in May,
The Little Mermaid remake, also in May,
Indiana Jones 5 in June and Marvel Studiosā
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania in July. Weāll bring you more updates on this one as we hear it.
