Peter Jackson’s Beatles project, originally planned to be a standalone feature film, will now be a three-parter on Disney+.
Peter Jackson’s hugely anticipated Beatles documentary, The Beatles: Get Back, has now been split from a single feature film as originally planned into three parts. Jackson has reportedly made the decision to split the film into parts to preserve the project’s artistic integrity. Personally, we hope it’s because there’s just too many good bits to cut out.
Executive Chairman for Disney, Bob Iger had this to say about the move: “As a huge Beatles fan myself, I am absolutely thrilled that Disney+ will be the home for this extraordinary documentary series by the legendary filmmaker Peter Jackson. This phenomenal collection of never-before-seen footage offers an unprecedented look at the close camaraderie, genius songwriting, and indelible impact of one of the most iconic and culturally influential bands of all time, and we can’t wait to share The Beatles: Get Back with fans around the world.”
The film, which promises to explore the legendary band’s ‘difficult’ working relationship with a candour that has not been seen previously, is set to release in November on Disney+, on the 25th, 26th and 27th. More as we hear it.
