Barry Keoghan is the latest actor to join the ever-growing cast of the Peaky Blinders feature film. More on the news below.
The Peaky Blinders movie is due to go into production later this year and the cast list is slowly, but surely taking shape. Cillian Murphy is already confirmed to return as Tommy Shelby and Rebecca Ferguson joined him in the cast in July.
The latest name added to the list is Barry Keoghan, as revealed by Deadline. Keoghan is coming off a very successful run of films, including his Oscar-nominated turn in Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees Of Inisherin and his viral bathtub antics in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. The lad is next due to appear in Andrea Arnold’s Bird, which is coming to UK cinemas 8th November.
There’s no word on who Keoghan or Ferguson will be playing in the Peaky Blinders film. Netflix is backing the project and itās understandably keeping all the cards close to its chest. Production is due to start this September, so we’re expecting more cast announcements to follow.
Steven Knight has written the script for the film while Tom Harper is directing. Plot details are scarce at this point, but we do know the action will take place during World War II. We chatted to Knight about the film and much more in Issue 50 of our magazine, which you can order here.
