Paddy Considine is once again putting on boxing gloves to star in Giant, and details of the film are here.
Back in 2017, Paddy Considine (pictured here in The World’s End) gave a remarkable performance as a boxer suffering the consequences of severe head trauma in Journeyman, a film he also wrote and directed.
He’s returning to the genre with Giant, which will adapt the true life story of British-Yemeni boxer Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed. It will follow his rags-to-riches story, as he fights his way from his working class origins in Sheffield to a world championship under the watchful eye of trainer Brendan Ingle.
Considine will play Ingle, and the only other confirmed cast member at the moment is Mena Massoud.
The Rise director Rowan Athale will helm the film from his own screenplay. To add extra prestige, Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood are also on board as executive producers for their company Balboa Productions
Giant will begin production soon, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
