Odeon is set to start opening cinemas in England this weekend, and has confirmed that it will not be making face coverings mandatory.
Odeon Cinemas is one of the chains of multiplexes in the UK that’s preparing to open its doors in the UK over the coming weeks once again. And it’s just updated its help section of its website with further information as to what its new normal will be.
In this section, it specifically addresses the issue of wearing face coverings in its cinemas, and it’s confirmed its policy on the matter for its English sites.
“We will be reopening in line with government guidelines”, it writes. “In England, this means that the wearing of face coverings for guests is optional, and a choice for our guests to make”.
Elsewhere in the UK though, it may yet take a different approach. It adds that “we are currently awaiting detailed guidelines from local Governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and our cinemas in these regions will be reopening in line with these”.
