Following the success of Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody, we’re now getting a Bee Gees movie too.
Just yesterday, we ran an article on this very site, and in it we looked at how musical films based in some way around real-life musicians were very much in-vogue. In the last 12 months or so, the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman have proven hits, whilst a Boy George movie is now in the way.
And you can add one to the list too. Paramount Pictures is pressing ahead with a plan to develop a Bee Gees biopic, in conjunction with producer Graham King. The life rights to the Gibbs family have been purchased from their estate. The band’s music will feature prominently in the movie.
In terms of personnel, we now hear that Anthony McCarten (not pictured), who penned the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody and Darkest Hour, has entered discussions to pen the movie. We don’t know as of yet who is line to direct, or appear before the camera.
