Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen will be returning for Nobody 2 ā and the plan is to have it filming this summer. More here.
A very welcome, almost out of nowhere hit back in 2021, the film Nobody saw Bob Odenkirk became an action movie star. Released at a point where studios were struggling to buy a hit – er, well, not much unlike now – the film from a modest budget returned a handsome profit, and talk quickly sparked about a follow-up.
Odenkirk’s well-reported health problems will have slowed things down a little, but thankfully, he’s recovered. He’s set to reprise the lead role of Hutch in Nobody 2, opposite the also-returning Connie Nielsen.
The first film was penned by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, with the director’s chair sat in by Ilya Naishuller. Naishiller will not be back for the sequel though, and as per a report at Collider, the hunt is on for a director to take on Nobody 2. It sounds like they may need them quite soon though, with the plan being to get the new film before the cameras over the summer. A production from August to October has been planned for.
That said, it’s no certainty that it’s going to happen. There’s still a fair amount of working out schedules to sort out, but the plan remains to get this shot this year, which would point to a 2026 release.
No word on the story for the new film yet, but it’s likely to involve somebody getting on Bob Odenkirk’s tits, and then Bob Odenkirk opting to disagree with them. They can probably take that and print it as the synopsis now, in truth.
Production is expected to return to the Winnipeg area where the original film shot, and casting is ongoing at the moment. As we hear more on Nobody 2, we’ll let you know. For the minute, that summer shoot looks like it’s going ahead.
