In The Surfer, when a man (Cage) returns to his beachside hometown in Australia, many years since building a life for himself in the U.S., he is humiliated in front of his teenage son by a local gang of surfers who claim strict ownership over the secluded beach of his childhood. Wounded, āThe Surferā decides to remain at the beach, declaring war against those in control of the bay. But as the conflict escalates, the stakes spin wildly out of control, taking āThe Surferā to the edge of his sanity.
Lorcan Finnegan will direct from a script by Thomas Martin. If we had our way, this would be funded and shooting as of right now, which is why we probably should stick to playing film studio simulation games rather than trying to run the real thing. But we canāt be the only ones looking forward to Cage getting hair extensions again and doing an Australian accent, can we? Weāll bring you more on The Surfer as we hear it.
