Check out the trailer for Hindi-language dark comedy Darlings, premiering on the streaming platform Netflix next month.
Netflix has launched the trailer for Darlings, an upcoming dark comedy ‘set against the backdrop of a conservative lower middle-class neighbourhood in Mumbai.’
Darlings follows the ‘lives of a quirky mother-daughter duo, who while navigating through exceptional circumstances, finds courage and love as they try to find their place in the world.’
There’s some quality behind the camera for this project, not least the production team behind Red Chillies Entertainment. The film is slated for a release date of August 5th, 2022.
In the wake of its continued fall in subscriber numbers, Netflix has been drawing criticism regarding the quality of its Netflix Original films, but the platform was quick to purchase Darlings following the film’s completion in February. If nothing else, it will certainly give Darlings the potential to be seen by a much wider audience, which can’t be a bad thing.
