Patton Oswaltās Dark Horse comic book Minor Threats is heading to the small screen as a live action series for Netflix.
As well as acting, Patton Oswalt is well known as an award winning stand-up comedian, having released several specials and toured all over the world. Heās also built up an impressive CV in film and TV, from voicing Remy in Brad Birdās wonderful Ratatouille and starring opposite Charlize Theron in Diablo Cody and Jason Reitmanās Young Adult, indie comedy I Love My Dad, to shows like A.P. Bio, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, season four of Veronica Mars and many, many more.
In 2022, Oswalt co-authored Minor Threats with Jordan Blum for Dark Horse Comics. It follows low-level supervillains who usually find themselves bound in front of a police station with a note saying, “Courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Batman.”
It subverted genre tropes by having the main villain, Stickman, kill the heroās sidekick, causing other heroes to turn the city into a police state. This causes a domino effect which ruins the lives of other villains in the city, resulting in both heroes and villains attempting to track Stickman down.

The comic book was popular with readers, leading Oswalt and Blum to write two sequels and a spin off, Barfly.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comic book is now being adapted into a live action series for Netflix and is in the early stages of development. Oswalt and Blum will serve as writers and showrunners. Scott Hepburn, the artist who drew and co-created the title, will also executive produce alongside Dark Horse Comicās Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Oswalt and Blum previously wrote and acted as showrunners for animated Marvel series M.O.D.O.K.
Dark Horse is also behind Umbrella Academy, which will be ending its four season run on Netflix on the 8th August.
