Moving forwards, Warner Bros will handle MGM’s international distribution, with one notable exception.
It has been announced that Warner Bros will be handling all international distribution for MGM films moving forwards. The deal is similar to the one that MGM previously had in place with Universal.
MGM, who of course has recently been acquired by Amazon, has inked the deal with Warner Bros which is set to begin later this year with the November release of
Bones and All.
One notable project that is excluded from the deal is the next James Bond film. Whilst Universal benefited from international distribution of a string of recent high-profile MGM releases such as
House Of Gucci, Licorice Pizza and of course, 2022’s
No Time To Die, Warner Bros won’t be handling the international distribution for the next 007 movie as things stand. That film is already expected to have a huge profile given the expected interest in who will be playing the next incarnation of the 007 character.
The deal does cover some other high-profile movies coming in the next couple of years, including
Creed III, which is now set for a 2023 release. We’ll bring you more details on this story as we hear them.
