Marvel Studio’s top brass are reportedly keen on securing Harrison Ford to play General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross.
It looks like Marvel Studios is looking to recast the role of General Thaddeus Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In comic book lore, Ross is a crucial character in the formation of The Thunderbolts, bringing the disparate villains and anti-heroes together to form a team that are christened with his own nickname. It seemed that with William Hurt’s passing earlier this year, the character of General Ross wouldn’t be appearing, but
The Ankler’s Jeff Sneider is reporting that Marvel are looking to recast the role, with Harrison Ford as its
top target.
Jake Screier, the filmmaker behind 2015’s excellent
Robot & Frank,is helming the project and we know that shooting is set to begin early next year ahead of a mid-2024 release.
As for which characters will make up the movie’s titular team, we now have some confirmed names. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss as Val, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes.
It’s as yet unclear as to whether Ford is interested or if he has already passed on the project. Still, just knowing that the character, who first appeared all the way back in 2008’s
The Incredible Hulk, is set to appear is an interesting bit of information. With production not set to start until next year, updates will continue to trickle out for this one. We’ll bring you more news on
