Kevin Feige will now have creative control over everything Marvel does.
Hard to believe that there was a point when Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was on the verge of leaving the company. It took the intervention of Disney boss Alan Horn a few years’ back to cement his role, and since then, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the biggest movie franchise on planet Earth.
Now, Disney has moved to cement Feige’s role at the firm, and to make sure he ain’t going anywhere else anytime soon. He’s been moved to the role of Chief Creative Officer across the entirety of Marvel, specifically including the television side. Where that leaves Marvel Entertainment boss Ike Perlmutter – with whom Feige was said to have had some, er, ‘conflicts’ – remains to be seen.
Feige reports into Alan Horn, but has overall creative control of all Marvel storytelling and material. Crikey.
We could pad this out into one of those 500 word things to try and manipulate the Google algorithm a bit, but that’s pretty much the story. Thus, we won’t.
