Mark Ruffalo has signed up to join Emma Stone in Yorgos Lanthimosā next film, Poor Things.
According to
Collider, Mark Ruffalo will be appearing in
Poor Things, the next film from Yorgos Lanthimos. Already signed on to the film is previous Lanthimos collaborator Emma Stone who was nominated for a supporting actress nomination for her work in
The Favourite.
Poor Things is based on a novel of the same name by Scottish writer Alasdair Gray, originally published in 1992. The book was a political allegory with a strange story that seems right up Lanthimosā alley. Inspired by Mary Shelleyās
Frankenstein, it sees the lead character Bella Baxter as a woman bought back to life with the brain of a fetus.
Tony McNamara who also collaborated on
The Favourite as a co-writer is adapting the novel, and Stone will also act as a producer for the feature.
Itās due to start production later this year, so weāre likely to see it towards the end of 2022.
