M Night Shyamalan sets up another thriller with Universal as post-production work on Knock At The Cabin continues.
Filmmaker M Night Shyamalan is set to continue his long-running relationship with Universal with the announcement that an as-yet-untitled thriller will be releasing in 2024. That means there’s no slowing down for the filmmaker as he continues with post-production work on
Knock At The Cabin, a rare adaptation for Shyamalan, who has adapted Paul Tremblay’s novel,
The Cabin At The End Of The World.
Filming wrapped in June on the project, which is Shyamalan’s next film on the release schedule following 2021’s
Old, a movie that performed well commercially (and was actually another adaptation) and saw him launch quickly into
Knock At The Cabin. With the director’s newly-announced project set to release in 2024, he will need to move quickly once more to make that deadline, although the February 2023 release of
Knock At The Cabin means that a late-2024 release for whatever comes next is probably likely.
The film will mark Shyamalan’s sixth collaboration with Universal and will likely continue this vein of smaller productions that seems to be indicative of the next stage in the filmmaker’s filmography. Not that we’re complaining, mind. We enjoyed the self-contained nature of
Old and are looking forward to both
Knock At The Cabin and whatever this next project may be. We’ll bring you more details as we hear them.
