Before the onset of the strikes, M Night Shyamalan was reportedly set to begin production on a third film in 2023.
M Night Shyamlan is having a busy year, but according to reports it was set to be even busier. He released
Knock At The Cabin earlier this year, a film which (according to IMDb) finally finished up in January. Then he released and promoted that one whilst also
departing Universal and setting up a new deal at Warner Bros. Next up,
he got to work on Trap, a film that we know little about. Whether he managed to complete production before the actors’ strike kicked in is as yet unknown.
Completing two films, promoting one and setting up a new studio deal is a pretty busy year by anybody’s standards but according to
World of Reel, it was set to be even busier for Shyamalan. The outlet is reporting that the filmmaker was set to embark on a third production within the space of a calendar year with
Good Grades all set to go into production in October before the strikes threw everything into disarray.
Very little is known about the project apart from that ‘his team had reserved offices in Cincinnati, Ohio for a project titled
Good Grades. The shoot was set to take place from October 16th to December 8th.’ The strikes don’t look like they’re ending anytime soon but should things be resolved by October, we’ll see how the land lies for Shyamalan with the status of
Good Grades likely dependent on whether he was able to complete production on
Trap before everything shut down.
