The pandemic thriller The Premonition will be based on Michael Lewis’ book, and will cover the early days of Covid-19.
Chris Miller and Phil Lord have signed up for their next directorial outing, The Premonition, a thriller set in the White House during the early days of the global pandemic. The film will follow three characters – a biochemist, a federal employee and a public health worker – all of whom strive to tackle the health crisis and prevent deaths from spiralling out of control.
Amy Pascal will produce the film, with whom the pair most recently collaborated on the successful (and Oscar-winning) animated film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse along with its upcoming sequel.
Michael Lewis, the author of the book upon which the film is based, usually provides fertile ground for film adaptations. His previous works include Moneyball and The Big Short, both of which were adapted into successful films.
Miller and Lord are expected to start on the project after they complete Project Hail Mary for MGM, an astronaut drama starring Ryan Gosling. Where this also leaves their planned monster movie, for Universal, is unknown. We’ll bring you more news on this one as we hear it.
