Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage star in summer horror movie Longlegs, and a full trailer for the film has landed. Hereā¦
We reported last week that the full trailer for Osgood Perkinsā Longlegs had emerged in US cinemas and made its way onto social media. Well, US distibutor Neon has now released the full trailer online and it seems to differ from the one that leaked on social media.
Take a look at the full trailer below:
Well, that was rather creepy. Osgood Perkins has been creating a steady reputation as the master of dread with his previous films, but Longlegs looks like it takes that creep-factor to a whole new level.
Nicolas Cage is said to be playing the titular serial killer that Maika Monroeās FBI agent is hunting and we certainly hear him in the trailer, but we havenāt actually got a look of him yet. Perkins is clearly keeping his cards close to his chest, which is probably a smart move considering how much trailers spoil these days.
Longlegs is heading to US cinemas on 12th July. While thereās still no release date for Longlegs in the UK, it looks like Black Bear has nabbed the distribution rights to it. Black Bear also distributed Immaculate earlier this year.
More on Longlegs as we hear it.

14th May, 2024: A new, longer trailer for Osgood Perkinsā spider horror Longlegs has emerged online. According to Bloody Disgusting, this trailer has been showing in cinemas in the US.
Well, technically, itās a theaterical cut of two previous teasers, titled āDirtyā and āSweetā. The trailer begins with the ominous words, āDo you still say your prayers?ā and the trailer quickly gets weird. Very weird, but intriguing nonetheless.
The film follows Maika Monroeās FBI agent who is tracking down a serial killer, only known as Longlegs and who looks an awful lot like Nicolas Cage.
If youāve seen Perkinsā previous works, including the superb The Blackcoatās Daughter, you know weāre in good hands with Longlegs. Sadly, it doesnāt seem like Longlegs has UK distribution yet. US folks can expect to catch the film in cinemas 12th July, though.
Weāll make sure to keep you posted on more Longlegs news.

5th February, 2024: After appearing in six different films on screen in 2023, Dream Scenario the best of them, Nicolas Cage has been slacking. Currently for 2024, we’ll be seeing him just three times on the big screen. The first of them? That’s going to be Longlegs, which isn’t, tragically, a Nicolas Cage film involving a massive spider.
Instead? It’s a horror film from the mind of Osgood Perkins (who apparently played young Norman Bates in Psycho II ā which makes sense, given heās the son of Anthony Perkins). Perkins writes and directs the film, which co-stars the terrific Maika Monroe.
Longlegs isn’t due out until the summer – we’ve got a July release date for it in the US, with no date confirmed for the UK yet – but a trailer has popped up, along with a synopsis. The way we see it, it’d be rude not to pass this information on to you.
Let’s start with the trailer for the film, which looks like this…
That synopsis? Well, it reads as follows…
Lee Harker, a new FBI agent, has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated with occult evidence uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder
Monroe is the FBI agent in question. Nicolas Cage? Ah, glad you asked. The mighty man himself will be taking on the role of the serial killer in question.
Neon is distributing the film in the US, and it was shot around this time last year. Alicia Witt and Blair Underwood flesh out the cast, with July 12th 2024 the confirmed US release date.
We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear anything about a UK distributor and a UK release date. Until then, you’ll have to make do with either the trailer, or better informed movie websites.
