Fred Hechinger, whoās recently featured in The White Lotus and Pam And Tommy, has been cast in Sonyās Kraven The Hunter.
Sonyās upcoming
Kraven The Hunter movie has a new cast member ā Fred Hechinger. We donāt know what role heāll be playing yet, but
The Hollywood Reporter says thereās speculation he could be playing the Chameleon, a Spider-Man villain with the ability to change his appearance. As heās the half-brother of Kraven in the comics, this would make a lot of sense if itās true.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson takes on the starring role. Kraven is himself one of Spider-Manās most formidable foes, and is often portrayed as a big-game hunter who wants to beat the webslinger to prove heās the best hunter there is. The film is directed by J.C Chandor, who helmed 2019ās
Triple Frontier and
A Most Violent Year. Collaborating on the screenplay is writing duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (known for the script of
Iron Man, which catapulted Marvel Studios to Hollywood success), as well as Richard Wenk. Wenk has penned various action movies like
The Equalizer and its 2018 sequel, and
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The writers sound like a good match to create an action-packed comic book film.
Fred Hechinger has been everywhere recently. You might recognise him from his film roles in Netflixās
Fear Street trilogy or
The Woman In The Window, or from TV series
Pam And Tommy, The White Lotus, or
The Underground Railroad. Heās also due to appear in Nicolas Cage-led western
Butcherās Crossing, which is currently in post-production.
Kraven The Hunter is the next film in Sonyās universe of Spider-Man spin-offs, which utilise interesting comic villains without involving the webslinger himself (though hopefully that could be on the cards in the future). It follows the two
Venom movies starring Tom Hardy, and the Jared Leto-led
Morbius which will be released on 1st April. Thereās also a
Madame Web film in the works, with Dakota Johnson currently attached to star.

Kraven The Hunter as we hear it.
