Amazon has landed the rights to Red One, thatās being billed as a āholiday event filmā and just happens to star two of the worldās foremost action stars.
Kiernan Shipka, star of Netflixās
Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, has landed a role opposite Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans in the upcoming
Red One.
The former
Mad Men child star will share the screen with the two action stars in what is being described as a āglobe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy.ā If that sounds lurchingly similar to Netflixās
Red Notice, another globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy (which also starred Johnson), you may want to reorient yourself in the direction of the recent
Jumanji films instead. The helmer of those films (which also starred Johnson) was Jake Kasdan, who will be directing the upcoming
Red One.
Little is known about the plot, apart from the fact that it will be holiday-themed, āimagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genreā.
Seven Bucks Productions is behind the project, the production company behind some of
The Fast & the Furious films (which also starred Johns⦠okay, we get it, weāll stop now). Amazon has picked up the rights to distribution so we imagine this one will be going straight to its Prime Video streaming platform.
No release date has yet been slated for the film, nor do we know when it will be entering production. When we hear more though, you can be sure weāll let you know.
