After a drought of Star Wars news for some time now, news continues to surface regarding Lucasfilm’s next cycle of movies.
Lucasfilm has remained tight-lipped regarding
Star Wars on the big screen for the last year or so. The critical drubbing of
The Rise Of Skywalker prompted the studio to say little about future plans, aware that whatever was said, it would probably be given short shrift by frustrated fans.

Over the last couple of weeks though, a new stage in its PR strategy has unfurled and the future plans for
Star Wars on the silver screen are beginning to emerge. Just before Christmas, Patty Jenkin’s
Rogue Squadron movie was announced and now we have further details on a pre-existing project.
Michael Waldron, writer and executive producer on the upcoming Disney+ and Marvel show,
Loki, has been hired to pen the script for Kevin Feige’s
Star Wars project. We’ve known for a while now that Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, was set to produce a
Star Wars movie, but this is the first time we’ve heard any concrete details following the original announcement.
Waldron has also worked on the wonderful
Rick & Morty show and worked with Feige recently to pen
Doctor Strange And The Multiverse of Madness (which has now started filming).
Clearly Feige must have been impressed with Waldron, as they are now collaborating together on this upcoming
Star Wars film. Little else is known about the project apart from Feige has previously said that he is interested in exploring new stories outside of the series’ existing characters and settings.
When we hear more from this one, we’ll be sure to let you know.
