Romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise, starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, halts production due to Covid outbreak in Queensland, Australia.  Variety reports that Julia Roberts and George Clooney have returned to the US after filming was stopped on their latest film. Romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise was being shot in Queensland, Australia, but production has ground to a halt because of a major Covid-19 outbreak in the area. The rom-com, produced by Universal, began production last year and frustratingly had only two weeks left of filming at the time of shutdown. It sounds like it will be a while before the crew can get that final bit of footage – they are expecting a delay of around three months, but it’s unclear exactly when they will be able to continue filming. Multiple Queensland locations were used for the film, as well as Brisbane and the Whitsunday islands. The islands are acting as a stand-in for Bali, where the film is set. Roberts and Clooney play two divorced parents who rush there to talk their daughter out of an unwise marriage. Ticket To Paradise is directed by Ol Parker, known for writing and directing the 2018 musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.  This delay in production could have a knock-on effect on the release date, which has already been moved once before. Originally scheduled for 30th September this year, it has been shifted to 21st October. A three month delay could push it back even further. In the meantime, Clooney is also attached to an untitled project directed by Jon Watts and co-starring Brad Pitt. It is currently in pre-production. Roberts also has a couple of projects lined up, Little Bee and Leave The World Behind. Neither have started production yet.
