Jonathan Majors has signed on to take the lead in an upcoming thriller, adding to his increasingly impressive slate of upcoming projects.
Jonathan Majors continues to be a magnet for all sorts of interesting and exciting projects, with news emerging that he will be taking the lead in the adaptation of the Walter Moseley novel, The Man In My Basement. Moseley has penned the script himself alongside Nadia Latif who will helm the project, marking her feature directorial debut.
The synopsis certainly sounds intriguing: the story ‘will see Majors playing a man named Charles Blakely who is down on his luck and at risk of losing his home, which has been in his family for generations. However, just when all hope seems to be lost, a strange white businessman appears at his door offering $50,000 to live in the basement of the home for the summer. Charles accepts the offer, never predicting what would follow. The novel explores themes of race, identity, power, and ultimately good vs evil.’
Whilst it hasn’t yet been announced who will be co-starring in the role of the businessman, the casting of Majors is enough to raise interest about this project. Having already made a splash in TV’s Lovecraft Country, the actor has also garnered acclaim in projects such as Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall and his brief but memorable appearance in the Disney+ series, Loki. The project is another interesting addition to Major’s upcoming slate which also features prominent roles in Michael B Jordan’s Creed III and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.
We’ll bring you more casting details on this one as they emerge, not to mention any production details that we hear. It’ll be interesting to see where Majors fits the project into his busy schedule.
