The upcoming Fantastic Four reboot is getting a rewrite, courtesy of Josh Friedman. The film remains set for a 2025 release.
Fantastic Four has had a pretty raw deal when it comes to big screen adaptations. Roger Corman produced a film in 1994 that famously wasn’t even released, while the 2005 and 2007 films did big business, but not quite big enough. The 2015 reboot sank almost as quickly as it was released.
We haven’t heard much about the reboot for a while, now that the series if firmly back in Marvel Studiosā hands.
Wandavision’s Mark Shankman is directing from a script by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. We knew that.
But now comes news that the script is being rewritten by Josh Friedman, who worked with James Cameron on both
Terminator: Dark Fate and the
Avatar sequels. How extensive his work will be remains to be seen, but heās presumably sat at his word processor now, writing away.
Fantastic Four is currently due to kick of Phase 6 of the MCU on 14th February 2025.
