Aquaman and Dune actor Jason Momoa is in early talks to star in a live-action adaptation of Minecraft, which is in the works at Warner Bros.
It seems like we have another wave of video game adaptations coming our way, and the latest to get the movie treatment in the beloved building/survival game
Minecraft. Deadline reports that the live-action film is in the works at Warner Bros, with
Aquamanās Jason Momoa in talks to star.
There arenāt any details regarding the plot at the moment, but we do know that
Napoleon Dyamiteās Jared Hess is currently set to direct. The script has been written by Chris Bowman and Hubbell Palmer, who penned crime-comedy
Masterminds.
The first iteration of
Minecraft was developed by Mojang Studios and released in 2011. It has since become extremely popular, and has been released on multiple platforms. Its popularity has led to several spin-offs, including
Minecraft Dungeons and
Minecraft: Story Mode. Itās even got its own arcade game.
Jason Momoa has recently been seen in franchise blockbusters such as
Aquaman and
Dune. Heās set to star in sequel
Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, as well as
Fast & Furious 10. Weāll have to wait and see whether he signs on for
Minecraft, too.
