New thriller Turn Up The Sun! has begun production in the UK, and several additions to the cast have been announced. One of them is the aforementioned James McAvoy, whoās known for (among other things) his role of a young Charles Xavier in the X-Men prequels. Also set to be in the film is Lucas Bravo, whoās previously appeared in Netflix series Emily In Paris, as well as the charming Mrs Harris Goes To Paris. Turn Up The Sun! is not about or set in Paris, so Bravo sadly wonāt be completing an unofficial trilogy with this movie. Aisling Franciosi (Godās Creatures) and Almudena Amor are also set for leading roles in the film. This looks to be Amorās English language debut after acting in Spanish language movies The Grandmother and The Good Boss. Turn Up The Sun! will follow two couples as they accidentally book the same countryside mansion for a relaxing weekend away. What seems like a coincidence turns slightly more sinister as they discover that things are not as they seem. The thrillerās written and directed by Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams. Heās known for his improvisational style of filmmaking, which heās used on previous films such as She Is Love (starring Haley Bennett) and Black Mountain Poets. Perhaps heāll be testing McAvoyās improv abilities with this new film, and weāre sure he wonāt disappoint. Between now and Turn Up The Sun's release, James McAvoy is set to appear in The Book Of Clarence. The biblical comedy-drama is written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, and is the follow-up to his debut feature The Harder They Fall. Thatās expected in UK cinemas on 19th January 2024. McAvoy has also teamed up with horror production company Blumhouse for psychological horror Speak No Evil. Thatās also expected at some point next year, though it doesnāt have an exact date attached to it yet. Itās clearly a good time to be a James McAvoy fan, and Turn Up The Sun! sounds like an interesting addition to his varied filmography. Weāll bring you more news on the film as we hear it.
