Shooting at Pinewood on Indiana Jones 5 is nearly done, as the film enters its final run of filming.
Stories about film production shutdowns are plentiful from the last couple of years. With that said, the as-yet untitled
Indiana Jones 5 has endured one of the most halting productions we can recall, with a Covid shutdown and a shoulder injury to star, Harrison Ford, causing everything to grind to a halt on two separate occasions.
Filming has now been ongoing since early last summer, so you’d imagine everybody will be keen to call time on this one. Producer Frank Marshall shared an image of Pinewood with the words ‘home stretch…’ suggesting that the production really is close to wrapping.
The film was originally set to release this summer, but has now been pushed back to June 30th, 2023.
Indiana Jones 5 will see Harrison Ford reprise the role of Indy for the final time, and has already built up quite a cast. Alongside Ford, Antonio Banderas, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renee Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann are all set to appear. Even more compelling is the fact that this is going to be the first Indiana Jones film that won’t be directed by Steven Spielberg. Instead, James Mangold is taking over the helm.
As usual, very little is known of the actual plot of the new film, outside of the fact that it’s due to be set in the 1960s. We’ll bring you more news on this one as we hear it.
